Johnson Winter Slattery (JWS) has appointed Andrew Gill and Lee Carroll as partners in the firm’s Dispute Resolution and Arbitration group. Andrew is based in Canberra and Lee in Melbourne.
Both Andrew and Lee are well known in the market for managing high-end disputes. Their appointments deepen the bench of one of Australia’s leading disputes team that is currently involved in a number of significant disputes.
Andrew’s appointment will round out the JWS Canberra team, which has a strong focus on M&A and assisting offshore investors navigate complex regulatory and trade issues, particularly in the defence and technology sectors. Andrew has substantial experience in running disputes in the agriculture, environment, defence and technology sectors.
Lee’s appointment will deepen the firm’s disputes and domestic and international arbitration capability, addressing an increasing demand for arbitration from our Energy & Resources and Infrastructure clients. Lee also advises investors and sovereign state parties on investment protection under bilateral and multilateral treaties. Lee will head up the firm’s arbitration group.

Andrew started this week and Lee joins on Monday, 17 November 2025.
